TOK connection
In Portuguese class, we discussed the social pressures girls tend to face regarding their bodies. In other words, due to the culture implemented in the Brazilian society, girls and women are expected to be curvy along with being overall skinny with a thigh gap. Furthermore, in terms of facial features, they are expected to be blue eyed with straight blonde hair, just like a barbie.
Relation to TOK
Naturally this can be connected to psychology, which is a human science, since the vast majority of girls are affected by these impossible goals implemented by society. A Way of Knowing that can also be intertwined with this concept is emotion since there is a clear correlation between the affects of the media onto the girl, thus being studied by professionals.
